I listened to some of Bush's so-called press conference today with his buddy from Baghdad. If anyone else heard or watched the whole thing, maybe you can help me. Was it just me, or did the whole thing seem to be completely staged? The questions posed by Iraqi reporters were all prefaced with praise for Bush and spoke of how swimmingly everything was really going over there. And the few American press questions seemed to be softballs lobbed at Bush. Furthermore, Bush was exceedingly confident throughout the press conference, which he never is at such events, leading me to believe that he knew he was not going to be asked anything remotely discomforting to him.
Again, was it just me, or did something seem strange to any of the rest of you out there?
If I missed something, let me know.
