I think it was mentioned that GOP consultant Arthur Finkelstein, who is gay, got married in Massachusetts this week. He was an aide to Pataki I believe and he is also part of a Stop Hilary campaign in New York. Well, NY GOP Chairman Stephen Minarik is jumping aboard it in a fundraising
letter.
More below the break.....
"Stopping Hillary Rodham Clinton is the most important thing you and I can do as Republicans in the next two years," says the fund-raising appeal sent out by Stephen Minarik. "You could say it's our duty as Republicans."
And you know the "L" word was coming....
In his four-page letter, Minarik refers to Clinton six times as a "radical liberal" or "ultraliberal," and says she is the "darling of the wealthy liberal left -- especially the Hollywood left" and has a "vast network of far-left contributors."
Boy it would be a fun drinking game to see how many times her opponent, whoever the hell it will be, uses "left" or "liberal."
But Hilary is fighting back....
Clinton, who has said she is not looking beyond her Senate re-election effort, has countered with fund-raising appeals of her own, including a March 31 e-mail warning supporters she is "the No. 1 target for the right-wing attack machine."
She is also helping the party...
On Saturday, Clinton was in Minnesota, raising money for her re-election campaign at a $1,000-a-person private event and headlining a $100-a-person dinner for Minnesota's Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
I'm not from NY, but from what I've heard and read, Minarik isnt the brightest bulb in the box. He's the hand-picked guy of Pataki, again, someone who isnt exactly a great politician. When Dean got the DNC nod, he essentially called him a terrorist. As far as this effort, I say, "Stop Hilary, thow all your money at this race, you hate her, forget the fact that her approvals are in the 60s and she crushes the two top NY Republicans in the Senate horserace polls, forget about the governor's race, forget about Santorum and Chafee and the others...." My opinion of Hilary is mixed, though. I, like many, dont like her war stand, but I can respect her for the fact that she has probably taken more right wing crap than anyone, and has survived.
