Tonight's front story on Keith Olbermann's Countown on MSNBC was about this story which fronted on NBC's nightly news. It's about this very well connected dude named Abdurahman Alamoudi.
Apparently he is very well known in Washington. He help set up the Muslim chaplins program for the military. He met twice with Clinton and also with then candidate George W. Bush.
Now he's in jail and being accused of funnelling money to Al Queda and Hamas.
There's more to this story, and I'm just beginning to start digging(As i've been writing this the number of stories on google news has tripled[Update-This is exploding!].)
But back to my original point-Olbermann had this guy on(and I'm kicking myself for not writing down his name-I remember them saying he writes the "xx Report", where xx is is his last name-please somebody help me out here), and asked him how this guy could have been hanging out with all these washington elites without being vetted in some way. And this is what he said(i'm paraphrasing):
The inteligence agencies wanted to investigate him, but were called off by higher ups because this guy was so well connected. Where did these connections come from? Well, it just happens that Alamoudi was partners with one of Karl Rove's Best Friends-none other than a guy named GROVER NORQUIST.
Apparently he was arrested last month, and I've seen nothing in the blogoshpere about this, but i did find a few articles about it that are a couple weeks old over on google news.
There's something to this, but I'm an amateur. Norquist and Rove hanging out with covert Hamas and Al Queda operatives? Come on guys, what's up?
