OK. A little bit of a sensational title. But here is my question:
It is intuitively obvious to the most casual observer that we are in a full-scale guerilla type war in Iraq. Did we not learn anything in fighting Vietnam about how to fight a guerilla war? What the hell are they teaching at the military academies? The Rumsfeld memo talked about lacking metrics to determine if we are winning the war on terrorism. Are there no metrics for guerilla warfare?
