We thought: Nahhh... It will never happen... 3 months later it did.
See if this sounds familiar:
Daily Kos :: Delay sought to jail those who filed ethics complaint
The Blue Lemur 12/10/2004: DeLay sought to have group which wrote ethical complaint found in contempt of Congress
..A letter issued by the attorney for House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) sought to place those who wrote and filed the ethics complaint against him in contempt of Congress, which could have resulted in jail time, RAW STORY has learned.
The 33-page October letter was penned by DeLay's private attorney, Ed Bethune. It contains a litany of suggestions for punitive action to be taken against those who filed an ethics complaint against him, and has 118 footnotes on nine pages.
CREW's Executive Director Melanie Sloan scoffed at the complaint.. "It's my fantasy if they would do that," she laughed. "And I think the courts would have me out of there in an hour."
Think again Melanie... The courts might not be there for you much longer if Delay has his way
