I have a confession: I cannot cook. Honestly. I set my hair on fire last month making macaroni and cheese. My ex-husband is a chef and a food scientist, and my children eat like queens at his house.
Now, my eldest daughter has begged me to stop making them go out for take-out. She has asked me if I would please, please start making dinner. So, for my birthday, at my request, she bought me a slow cooker.
I'm terrified. I realize it's too late to use the slow cooker tonight, so I'm wondering if anyone out there has a quick recipe that I can surprise her with after her softball game tonight? She likes spicy, so that's not an issue.
And, since I now have a slow cooker, any favourite recipes you'd like to share?
You guys are always throwing around recipes when there's a troll on board, so I figured you're full of them.
Just remember, the caveat is: I'm an idiot. Really. If your recipe involves my paying attention for long periods of time, chances are, I'll burn the house down. But, if you're in the mood to share, I'd love to see those recipes.
And just think: for those about to graduate, these will be easy recipes for first apartments.
Okay. How pathetic is it that a 42-year old woman can barely boil water?
