On his MSNBC morning show, Don Imus asked Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz) if he wanted President Bush to campaign for him. Hayworth's answer
"In a word, no. Not at this time."
Imus asked the question during a phone interview, when he and Hayworth were chatting about Bush's unsuccessful attempt to draw votes for Jerry Kilgore in Virginia.
Naturally, Hayworth dodged the question, but Imus was unrelenting.
Here's Imus's take"
"I was talking with J.D. Hayworth who's a Congressman from Arizona and I asked him if he wanted the President to come to Arizona and campaign for him and he gave me some big long winded answer about what he wanted the President to come, you know, take care of immigration and yada yada yada. And finally I just beat on him for awhile, and said would you like the President to come out and do some commercials for you and run them all over there in Phoenix, Tucson and Prescott? And he said 'No.' So, there has got to be a lot of them that feel like that."
Throughout the nation, some people are awakening--and others are soiling their pants.
[I hope this isn't a repeat: I didn't find it in the last 50 diaries or via search]
