Heck, we here on dKos could have told him that years ago.
But enough with the "told ya so!"s, especially because ... T. Boone also states alternative energies will replace petroleum, which, if he's not talking about corn-based ethanol and the like, but is talking solar and wind and the like, is a good thing.
The question is, why on earth did he wait til now to spill the beans?
Not much more below the fold ...
Here's the article:
Doha, Qatar (AP) - Oklahoma native and Texas oilman T- Boone Pickens sees today's stubbornly high oil price as evidence that daily global production capacity is at - or very near - its peak.
Pickens thinks if demand for crude oil rises beyond the current global output of roughly 85 (m) million barrels per day then prices will rise to compensate.
And he predicts alternative sources of energy will begin to replace petroleum.
So we all know this is an indicator of which way the wind's blowing, especially given the WH's recent minimal acquiesces to reality concerning global warming. Wonder if they'd be professing the same had the Dems not gotten in office?
Back to seed starting. Talk amongst yourselves if you like - or join me in watching this drop like a lead balloon as I carefully press dirt over Hamburg rooted parsley and anise seeds ...
UPDATE! Thanks to disrael for posting a link to a much longer article on this in the Houston Chronicle: linkie
