Bill Bradley talked about his new book, The New American Story, yesterday on Meet The Press. I have not read it yet, but I intend to do so based on this single quote, "...we can solve our problems—whether it’s health care, education, there’s reforming democracy—if we put country ahead of party and we tell people the truth...."
Tell the truth. Say what you will about the old basketballer and former senator, he articulates an amazing position. He suggests that we can reform democracy. He thinks it is simple. He advocates telling the truth. He thinks politicians should put the country ahead of their respective political party. This concept is not radical. Skipping the obligatory poll I simply ask this question; can telling the truth and putting country ahead of party get any politician elected and if so, which of the current candidates (or your hopeful candidate) can pull this off?
