I'll make this (somewhat) short. 'Zona is on in 90 minutes. Between games that might be good (like 8-9 or 5-12 matchups) and Pac-10 games, I might actually be able to get some other stuff taken care of.
Sen. Kerry's platform is probably fairly well solidified. If he hasn't brought up a policy proposal by now, I doubt it will come up at all. However, browsing the JohnKerry.com website doesn't give me too much in the way of specifics. There are some long press releases, but they manage to not say too much: laundry lists and sound bites.
It's hard to look at policy when somebody says "To restore fiscal discipline and strengthen our economy, Kerry will repeal Bush's special tax breaks for Americans who make more than $200,000," and there is no indication of how much money the repeal is expected to net. Or even specifics about what he means (does that include all the capital gains cuts or only the cap gains cuts for those in the top bracket or does he really mean creating another bracket at $200k? How about dividends or chapter-S changes?)
There are some good points where he does mention explicit legislation. However, there are a lot of places where it is all hand-wavey about repealing tax incentives to move jobs overseas or strengthing laws to prevent CEO's from walking away with investors' money. I have little clue what he actually means.
So, please help me. Give me your links to Kerry policy or analysis of his policy. Let's go Pac-10!
