(With apologies and thanks to the brilliant Laura Numeroff)
If you annoint a Fool as President...
he'll have to bring his buddies.
When they get to D.C. and see all the money to be made...
they'll want to have it all!
If a dictator in a weaker country stands in the way...
he'll have to send his loyal army to "liberate" it.
When the press, people and Legislature begin to question his motives and methods...
he's gonna have to suspend some rights!
When you ask, "What about the Constitution?"...
his buddies will tell everyone you are not supporting the troops.
If his buddies fall prey (through no fault of their own, of course, they are all perfectly innocent and even if they did do something wrong, it was done solely to protect us from the Axis of Evil! Really!) when their actions don't bear the scrutiny of the blogosphere, a noble prosecutor, and a slowly reawakening press.....
there's gonna be trials.
When the buddies are faced with prosecution...
offering up the Fool as President might be in their best interest.
When the Fool as President is impeached and his Vice buddy resigns...
perhaps we can get a brave, competent, compassionate, intelligent President to replace him, and the Democrats will learn that being brave, speaking out and being true to principles is a good thing and never again will they waffle on the sidelines as someone tramples all over our Constitution! After this embarrassment of a Fool as President is replaced, no American will ever again be fooled by the folksy act of a man put forth as a puppet candidate by a greedy, intrusive, know-it-all party.
It could happen, right?
