The very popular technology related Digg.com has added quite a few new areas as of this morning. I took the oppertunity to submit my first linked story to Digg under their politics section and used the Joementum to end my lurking here.
I am a lurker in tech and political blogs. Over the past couple of months I realized someone has been putting politics in my tech and tech in my politics. Issues like NSA data-mining and net neutrality have made the front pages of sites like Digg and Dkos. Until today, digg had political issues related to politics somewhat shoehorned into the technology security area.
I suggest give digg a few hours or days to get their new v3 polished a bit (we know what its like to have new features act flakey) and give it a look. You will see political issues important to younger geeks like the RIAA and MPAA pressuring the US government which in turn pressured the Swedish government to enforce non existent aspects of copyright law to shut down thepiratebay.org. You might find an opportunity to share links with apolitical geeks who are as freaked out as we are that the constitution is being chipped away at. You will find those concerned about GOP intrusion and selling out of the internet and digital media in general are great potential Democrats.
