Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) last week donated $500,000 in leftover presidential primary funds to his party's House campaign arm and pledged to raise another $500,000 for House candidates, the latest sign that he continues to nurse an active interest in a 2008 race.
I wish I had a subscription to RollCall to get at the rest of this story, but alas.
A bit of editorializing at the end there, I thought. Couldn't this move also mean that Kerry's doing what he said he would with his leftovers.
I dunno, I don't understand campaign finance. But I thought it was worth noting anyway for those who wondered what Kerry was doing with the money. He seems to be slowly doling it out. Some to the DNC, assuming that was from the same pot, and now some to the DCCC.
I don't know where the money he gave for the Governor's race in Washington came from, nor the money he gave in Louisiana for the run off elections either, but for all I know it all came out of the money that folks were upset about right after the election.
Seemed like plain politicking to me. But then I'm not completely sure I trust the main whistleblower in that story, Donna Brazille. Ever get the feeling somebody isn't quite on your side. And she was entirely too gaga about Condi's nomination as well. I don't care if the woman's purple if she's not right for a job, it shouldn't matter. Just as it shouldn't matter what color someone is if they are right for a job. But I digress.
Anyway., I thought the blurb was interesting.
