It's 11:46 pm here in Central NY, I have to get up at 6 for work, but I'm watching Apollo 13 on USA network for the second time.
I was only 8 at the time so I don't really remember it. It occurs to me that my 2.3 gigahertz desk top may have nearly as much computing power as most of the computers NASA used at the time for the mission.
This was truly an astounding feat in human history. The tiniest error would have spelled death for the astronauts. "They" literally brought them back with baling twine and duct tape(well not the baling twine, but they did use the duct tape), a truly inspiring moment in our history.
