Just saw this on tv: Diebold has an ad with short, anecdotal "interviews" with Maryland voters who are on the way out of a polling place/places. All of the 5 or so individuals are, of course, in favor of the new voting machines, because of one or more of the following:
You touch the screen, you see your vote.
The machines let you vote in English or Spanish.
It's soooooo easy!
The issue of security is not even mentioned, meaning that Diebold really wanted to get this ad out before the issue hits the mainstream, just before November. Preemptive strike, if you will.
Mind you, there were already reports of problems with the voting machines.
Can't find an online version of Diebold's ad. If someone else can, that'd be cool.
