Fellow Kossacks:
I know this has been diaried before, but we need information about procuring body armor.
I work in a research laboratory on one of the UC campuses. There is an undergraduate assistant who works here, and he was just called up for deployment to Iraq. He will be training until January, and then he will be deployed somewhere near Baghdad.
We would like to make sure that he has all the body armor and safety equipment available, but we have no idea how to go about getting it or what he needs. My understanding is that all the soldiers are issued Kevlar vests, but not the ceramic inserts. Is this correct?
In any case, all your help is greatly appreciated. I thank you and my co-workers thank you.
