I first discovered the wunderkind Gilliard when he posted a smart column on this blog many months ago about gay rights.  It was a smart as it was passionate, and I've been a fan ever since.

Which is why I intend to open a huge can of whuppass if the big guy upstairs (y'know, the one with the direct DSL line to George W. Bush and Pat Robertson) does anything but speed this kid's recovery.

Steve's blog has been updated with an address where you can send cards, flowers and small flasks of Bacardi.
