You can give the kids a head start on the President's new science curriculum concepts by planning a family vacation to the Museum of Earth History in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. You may wish to begin your tour with a visit to the Eden exhibit:
A large, panoramic still life display featuring a representation of how Eden might have looked. This exhibit includes a 20 foot waterfall and lush vegetation, with a full size skeleton of a Thescelosaurus and a skeletal skull replica of Stan, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
You may then move on to learn all about the science of Noah and the Great Flood:
Were Dinosaurs on the Ark of Noah?
Yes. From a biblical standpoint, it is extremely clear that God created all land animals on day six of the creation week (dinosaurs are land animals), and that He gathered two (male and female) of each kind of land animal into the ark.
Therefore, dinosaurs were included in this group. This is reinforced by statements in Genesis 7, which say that all animals with the breath of life came by pairs into the ark.
The dinosaurs on Noah's ark were probably juveniles. We can speculate this for two reasons; first, since dinosaurs were reptiles, they probably continued to grow throughout their lives. In their adult stage, the dinosaurs would have been quite large (e.g. the Sauropod could grow to 40 feet (12 meters) in length, 60 feet (18 meters) in height, and weigh 70 to 80 tons.).
It would be much easier to house young dinosaurs on the ark. Secondly, God put the animals on the ark specifically to repopulate the world after the flood. Since the animals had to be able to reproduce after the flood year, God would have saved younger animals to secure their reproductive viability.
When your kids return to school this fall they will be able to impress their teachers with their newly learned perspectives on important questions like this one:
Did Dinosaurs Live with Man?
Evidence from fossilized footprints, ancient artwork, literature and fossils all strongly support the fact that dinosaurs and humans did co-exist:
Human and dinosaur tracks have been found together in several places, including the famous tracks near Glen Rose, TX.
If are overwhelmed by a day of learning at the museum, you can relax in the evening with a performance of the Passion Play:
Experience the wonder and glory of the Greatest Story Ever Told -- The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas!
