Rahul is a national and international activist who has written two excellent books slamming the US policy on terrorism and Iraq.  He is currently in Iraq (Baghdad at the moment) and is making several posts each day about what is going on - it give you a really good idea of what the Iraqis are thinking, which isn't exactly what is being reported.  He has a lot of insight into the Shi'a-Sunni unity and Al-Sadr.  Most importantly, he is not writing for any paper or magazine, just posting on his blog.
