I'm still reflecting on the blurry line between
moral values and the perception of
strong leadership discussed to death on dKos and elsewhere.
The Christian Science Monitor reports that swing states look much more like red states in their opposition to same-sex civil unions. That's right--I didn't say marriage--I said civil unions.
And all this debate about moving left or center to recover politically leaves me thinking we don't really need to move anywhere on the ideological continuum, we just need to frame our message in terms of principles, not just positions.
And I have argued in this blogspace for shedding the I'd rather be right than win loser mentality, but I can't see compromising on a minimum of legally protected civil unions for same-sex couples.
Can you? Take the poll, please.
