The aim of Free Speech Wiki is to bring together a Wiki and Weblog community into the world of politics, opinions and debate. To further personalized web interaction for a constructive purpose; To install an outlet into which the ideals of Free Speech can be honored, To build a political community for those of all ages, color, nationality and creed, without bias or prosecution, without skin color, nationality or religious segregation.
People have a right to say what they believe, to broadcast their own thoughts to the outside world and never has it been as vital as in an age such as ours, when media and political corruption, along with blatant lies have become the normal standard of society. Free Speech Wiki will allow a user, any user, the power of the press and the power of the media, along with the responsibilities that come with such power.
The site will be split into three areas, the first being the wiki itself. The wiki will act as a reference dictionary and encyclopedia of political figures, factual discussion and pure information, along with serving as an archive of essays and logs of debates carried out on the site. A wiki allows for an enormous amount of material to be present because the material is edited by its very users. The power of attention, the power of representation to the masses and the power of truth rests in the hands of the people.
The second will consist in WeBlogs of the users, where they can post their own thoughts, ideas and arguments. Each user will have the opportunity to have his own area of the website, free from censorship and moderation.
The third part will consist in discussion and will be divided twice, into first an internet forum/message board in which users can debate topics of interest and/or fraternize at will. This kind of discussion brings about much more formed debate, with valid points, quotes and factual resources.
The second part will be chat based, for the users to have a quicker paced debate. Less formal, but consisting of quick paced excitement and more direct user interaction.
The all in all environment of the wiki will be friendly and personal. Each user will have friends, opponents and advocates amongst the site. It will allow people to express themselves in a healthy environment as well as to build and shape their beliefs, but the primary goal Free Speech Wiki is and always will remain advocating of Free Speech.
Unlike many of the current sites, Free Speech Wiki aims to have a more personal outlook and discussion community. If you have ideas for the site you WILL be listened to. Your thoughts and inputs WILL be taken into consideration. I care about two things: Free Speech, and keeping users happy.
