Given that both candidates had a realistic chance of nomination in this primary contest it was always likely that one group of supporters would be alienated by the eventual outcome.
Was there ever an outcome which might have ensured a harmonious Democratic party leading up to the GE?
Now that Hillary's gratuitous lies about her experience have rendered her candidacy dead-in-water, I want to suggest that even her most ardent supporters do not have the luxury of pointing to underhanded, or Rovian, tactics employed by the Obama campaign to plot her downfall.
From the Party's perspective, isn't this a most desirable outcome to a bitterly contested primary?
The "She is so screwed" diary currently on the Rec list pretty much paints the picture for the future of the Hillary campaign. Still, I feel that Obama needs to be careful not to antagonise Hillary supporters in the death throes of her campaign - he needs to retain the moral authority to rally the party after Hillary suspends.
I can't see any mileage in him piling on at this late stage of the game ...do others see it this way?
In my view he should let the new media narrative "the door is closing on the Clinton candidcay" run its natural course, while promoting hope and unity at all his rallies, people are capable of reading between his lines.
