I have a relative who is an ordained minister of a significantly conservative denomination, and although conservative in his religious beliefs is unmitigatingly honest and straight forward, (I say progressive) when making his political choices and in forming his political opinions. I regularly forward him Diaries that I read at the D Kos that I believe may interest him, and occasionally receive a short reply email concerning the Diary. Recently he advised/requested I not forward any email that had any, I will say it politely, "charged words or meanings", in the "subject line", a request I fully understand and respect.
This morning I noticed an email in my in-box, that after reading, I would like to share, as IMHO says what is happening in a manner/way that I found moving and inspirational, particularly how he conveys our hope in an allegorical manner, and using some interesting word choices in the process. Following is that email:
While living in California we had streams from the mountains that RAN as rivers out of the snow melt in the spring. They’d get into the DRY valley and would soon turn into meandering streams that would eventually end as TRICKLES of water into stagnant pools in the river bed, not even watering the BUSHES along the river bed. As the hot dry summer went on the river bed would dry up, as did the BUSHES, further and further up stream until even the snow was gone and so was the TRICKLES of water.
There’s a snow storm out west this weekend...the snow is returning to the mountains and HOPE to the valley. Let it snow, let it snow!!! By Thursday moisture will return to the plains and hope to the people.
Although this Diary may fail to pass the muster of some as an acceptable Diary, my hope is that a few will find it as inspirational as I did.
