This is a little different than the normal diary, but one I think could be beneficial to some people on this website.
The Daily Kos readership ranges from well-known politicians to casual observers of the political process. I know many on the site would like to be more educated about politics beyond the news, campaigns/elections and current policy discussion.
What I am looking for (or to put together) is a comprehensive reading list that site visitors would find useful as a knowledge source in regards to American politics. This can range from the U.S. Constitution to Plato's Republic to newly released books on foreign policy.
I'm thinking introductory books/text/articles/websites in the following areas:
- Law
- Political Theory
- American Politics
- International Politics/Relations
- Political Campaigning
- The Future of Politics/Political Campaigning
- Comparative Politics/Beliefs
Advanced reading is also welcome, but provide recommendations as if you were building a syllabus for an introductory political science program.
All input is welcome!
