As related in the current Top-Rated Diary, an Iraqi journalist showed his appreciation for what Bush and his cronies have done to his Country in a highly-symbolic way within the Arab world.
We should follow his lead, sort of.
Bush will, like all outgoing Presidents do, be driven along Pennsylvania Avenue in the Inaugural motorcade. For the special occasion of Bush's departure, the road should be paved with the soles of shoes.
Let me make perfectly clear that I certainly do NOT advocate anyone throwing anything at any vehicle in that motorcade for any reason!! Doing so could quite possibly get your ass shot, and you'll get no sympathy from me while you lay on the ground bleeding from your well-earned holes.
But what would be cool is if, just in advance of the outgoing President's proceeding down our road, it were absolutely paved with the cut-off soles of thousands of shoes (just the soles, mind you, to reduce the security nightmare for the folks in the D.C. Police and Secret Service who will be working their asses to the bone that day).
Everybody has an old, worthless pair of sneakers or other shoes in the back of their closet somewhere, and a pair of scissors. Let's use them to good symbolic purpose....
