I will preface this diary by stating that I have been against this invasion of Iraq since its inception. I happen to believe that this administration would have fabricated anything it needed to get themselves inside of that country.
Now we are there 1354 U.S. Military lost lives and counting into this quagmire, there is an announcement that we may begin pulling out troops later this year. Believe me I want the troops home just as much as the next person, but I also think that anyone who has delusions that these elections will prorogue the violence in that country is foolish.
Time and time again these insurgents have shown themselves to be more than a step ahead of us, and that, I believe is a reflection on the group of Bush "yes men" running this war. We are the ones who created this mess, we are the ones who need to step up and fix it. I'm the first one to admit I am not sure if that solution is a political one or a military one, but it needs to be a REAL one.
I don't think George "Bring'em On" Bush is capable of it.
