There's no one Keyes hates more than gays (except women of course) so he finally got around to one of his favorite campaign tricks.

And the fundies just whooped it up during his big gay-bashing speech in Chicago. This is classic doublespeak and makes no sense of any kind, but that doesn't matter to the fundies.

Keyes said that allowing gay marriage would destroy strong families, the foundation of society, but he stressed that he doesn't dislike gay people.
"It's not because I'm against homosexuals, but because I'm for the marriage institution and creating strong families," he said. "We must be a community of people in faith."
Later, responding to a question from Chicago gay activist Michael Bauer Keyes said that "there is no contradiction between defending the institution of marriage and understanding that even when you look at somebody and you know that they're in sin, you can still remember that they are children of God."
Bauer was not impressed with the response, but a group representing conservative organizations opposed to gay marriage applauded.

I guess he knows what one of the main wedge issues is if he wants black voters to support him. I don't think even this will give him a shot in hell.
How someone can support slave reparations and then decry "big government" is astounding. This pandering is so blatant that I want to shove a eucalpytus leaf up his bigot ass.
