Every week it's time to do the DIDS...to crow about what perfectly ordinary little victory we or someone we care about or know about has wrested from the grubby fingers of mundance workaday existence.
Sure, we could blog about the 2008 election..or the latest race to build a better battery....but why?
We want to write about our achievements. They rock!
This is the week I get to guard the house while the family is off in Michigan.
So far we are five days into the tour and I only just tonight broke down and ordered a pizza...but I also microwaved some peas and gobbled those down before the pizza arrived... most of which will be sleeping overnight in the fridge. (burp).
The main adventure so far is that Sunday afternoon I noted the absence of air in the left front tire. Not good. Then changed the spare and prepared to drive to the dealer the next morning.
That morning, after 2 hours 40 minutes of waiting I am told the full damage.
A rock (or a rock and its friends) have 1. punctured the tire, 2. cracked the wheel, 3. put a hole in the air compressor which is why the AC does not work
Total bill
Oh, about a thousand bucks.
Nice.
The partial good news is it's partially covered by insurance.
So now I got my AC and my wheels back. Woot.
Not much of a DIDS but it's mine and that's that.
Oh, the guard duty.
The house is clean.
Did LAUNDRY last night (make sure MKK reads this!)
Did the dishes... but they are sleeping soundly in the dishwasher still.
And sans the boys the house is rather orderly.
And quiet.
Blessedly quiet.
But I miss them so.
But I will like the next five days of peace and quiet regardless. :)
