Yep, it's Tuesday this must be DIDS. :)
Tonight's adventure is simply declaring that I have just confirmed my flight is still in existence for tomorrow and just about lunchtime tomorrow local time I shall (barring some mortal or morbid event) be hanging out, being cool, with cool peeps at Netroots Nation!

Of course, DIDS is about what we, well, did... so I suppose I need to find something.
Today's DIDSes are a pair of choice events.
- I submitted a working draft to one our senior managers for eventual publication in one of the industry periodicals. My boss, who is quite difficult to get compliments out of, said "very nice job".
- Within three hours I promptly irritated her by utterly mistaking the start time of a group meeting. I was running a pre-convention errand and really thought the start time was an hour later. Had keep checking, again and again, to make sure I would have plenty of time. Came back, all smug, thinking, yeah I'm Mr. Punctual. Except... no. I was not.
On net, it was a good day, but a lot of the street cred from #1 was consumed by the goof of #2.
Those are my past and present DIDS.
My future DIDS, a la convention will be largely driven by an atypical lack of expectations on my part which will involve some combination of
- running (yes, I do that)
- drinking (do that too)
- eating (ditto)
- live-blogging lunch (it's a hallowed tradition!)
- walking lots
- not wrecking my laptop like I did on the last day of the Chicago convention last year
- perhaps some hanging out at the pool

being meek and shy
-
sleeping
- getting my politics on
I hear there is pub trivia, parties and if you are really into it some gaming a la Dungeons and Dragons but I will leave that to the experts to discuss.
Also, if you get a chance go virtual and check out the NN convention in Second Life. Some hardworking peeps are doing that side of the business.

I'm gonna try to relax. I have not had a vacation yet all summer.
