eCongress - What's the point of representatives?

Now that the nation has access to real-time information with the click of a button, why not replace traditional congress with an internet congress?  Get rid of the house and senate, and create a new eCongress where every citizen would have the opportunity to vote on each bill over the internet.

An eCongress would put an end to corrupt politicians who represent corporate America rather than the citizens of their own states.  It would give every American a voice.
