You send in a little card and you make a choice. It comes back as a voter card. For many in our Congress that is where it ends. Is a Democrat a Democrat if the name is the only thing that is "Democratic"? If this is true what does it say for our ability to have any idea who we are voting for? Well, the first time they are in office we don't but if they have any record at all we are really remiss in not checking into the past.

Look where not checking has gotten us. I voted for both of our last two Presidential candidates (before President Obama) but I admit that if I knew nothing about a Senator I voted for them because they were Democrats. I think we have all voted for Republicans without knowing it. The republicans are the biggest balls of slime on earth. Do you think a Rush Limbaugh would hesitate to do anything it took to defeat Democrats... including fielding candidates who are lying about their party.

First of all, some Democrats live at the "C Street House". WTF? In case any of you have not heard about "The Family" at "The House" some of the residents include Mark Sanford (sometimes) and John Ensign all of the time. As you surely know, both of these men, after burning the earth under any Democrat found in scandal, have mistresses and Sanford seems to want to brag about his forever. But I would have thought all of the men who lived there were republicans. Apparently not. And if there are Democrats in this house, the earth as we know it is no longer round.

The house is listed as a church. If you can call it a church when the "preacher" is clearly a sociopath. He told these men that they they were God's chosen ones to lead the earth. They were above any law, any moral code, they were as Gods themselves. Then according to the book about them (referenced below) this preacher told them that they could even "force themselves" on little girls and it would be fine. It is filthy. What kind of man would even listen to this?  Apparently some Democratic (in registration at least) members of Congress too.

The book is "The Family : The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power - Jeff Sharlet

And the Rachel Maddow show where she interviewed the author (who lived "undercover" in the house), and who filmed this preacher in full crazy glory is here:

http://www.youtube.com/...

This preacher says that their role models should be Hitler, Osama Bin Ladin and other fundamentalist, violent dictators. It is possible that this Elimiinationsist church who plan to control the 7 Mountains have millions of followers. Certainly, if another republican won the Presidency had followed Bush we might have been lost.

And for those who wonder why our President can't seem to get certain things done... think of this:
He has about 50 of these "blue dog democrats" in the house and 20 in the Senate. I started looking up their
voting records and they NEVER vote Democratic. And some are rabidly anti abortion. One that I looked up voted against the "morning after pill" and voted to force teens to tell their parents before they went for an abortion... with no exceptions. What if the person you're supposed to tell is the one who did it. It happens a lot more than we think.

Cheney had a secret hit list... do we have any idea of how many of these people are still in the CIA, in the Pentagon, and we know thanks to one man that the military is full of them. The President might be investigating a CIA higher up that is still loyal to Cheney. He has these people around him now. So it's not just Democrats who are keeping him from getting things done. One man, Michael Ammerman has sued the US government to bring back freedom to worship as they please in the military. His website is:
http://www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org/

So exactly how do you know when a Democrat is not really a Democrat?  The best way is looking up that voting record. It is a little annoying as you have to find the state, the senator, pick an issue and then you get the list. There are quite a few that don't appear to ever vote with the Democrats except when naming a highway. Another clue of course is when they go on FOX news and brag about how fiscally responsible you are as Evan Bayh did. If ever there was a shout out to republicans, this was it. I would not be surprised to find this total loser involved with any republican groups. He has been in the Senate forever and has nothing to show for it. This is exactly the type of man who would love to be "chosen". His name is Evan Bayh and he, Max Baucus and Ben Nelson are just a few who vote more with the republicans than some of the republicans do.

It is time we named names, over and over. The republican message is getting through to the Independents. The problem is that for the last eight years the most radical evangelicals have infested every part of govenrment. We would not survive another eight years. We would become a dictatorship. These people do not even really try to hide their objective. There are at least 10 Senators who believe they are chosen by God for the job.

This is nothing new but now so much more is at stake. Your future is at stake. I know so many of you are younger than I am so please work to save America. The work you do today is no less than Paul Revere, Patrick Henry and others who created this nation. If ever there was an American it is the man who started this blog. To me he is a patriot who certainly has done as much as Patrick Henry to save us. and this is why....

There have always been nutwings. There have always been skinheads. There has not, in our history, been such a persistant and all pervasive use of God to bend the will of so many to become what they call "Soldiers for God". In case you doubt it think of Campus Crusade for Christ. There is a reason they attack when someone is young. There is a reason the "sermons" are short and the experience more like a  rock and roll concert than a religious service. Bit by bit they got people to accept the next step into crazy.  We don't know how many there are but the one researcher found that most businesses in America had large numbers of evangelicals. So many that now they have changed the name of Campus Crusade for Christ to "Power to Change". American businesses are full of them. Many of them own their own business. A little bit of Googling and you will end up in shock at what they have done.

And this house on "C Street" in Washington... why the total secrecy. All of the men have entered into a covenant that they will never tell of anything that goes on in the house. This is a house who says that these men are free to go after our children. They are elected officials. They are among the slimiest people on earth. There is no one lower than a person who would hurt a child. The book is referenced above. Please read it and you will know how much you are saving America. If you want to look up voting records they are at this site:

So, you can be the creators of the new America. The one that cares about and protects all it's citizens and freedoms.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Independents have moved left, not right (7+ / 0-)

They are turning middle America off with their religious craziness, not towards it.

America has moved left in every poll out there. The under 35's want bigger government and more social programs. They don't care who people marry.

These old white men are on their way out. They just spent all day showing the fastest growing segment of our society why they don't want to vote for them - because they are racist.

I'm sorry, I'm just not buying into all this gloom and doom. The country is moving away from these kinds of people, not toward them.

that a large part of the country is moving left. However, I don't think it's doom and gloom to publicize groups like this and hang them out to dry.

It's very important that people understand mechanisms that operate in groups like this.

It's not doom and gloom to know your enemies. It's smart politics. These Repubs are pounding every single thing Obama tries to do, and they are convinced that if they keep pounding loud and long enough, eventually people will start listening. Especially if Obama's policies take time to work.

They are not giving up no matter what, and we have to still be vigilant.

I remember when the Vietnam war  was finally over, and Nixon resigned. We thought we'd really turned the country around. Next thing we knew, Reagan.

Note the info about the Blue Dog Dems. We need to primary them and get rid of them.

    •  Depends... (0+ / 0-)

"Independent" is a term that is at least as vague as "Democrat."  Some people call themselves "independent" simply because they do not vote straight ticket. Some are really third-party. Some are not affiliated with any party. Some are non-partisan. Some are anti-partisan.  Some are so partisan, their otherwise preferred party isn't partisan enough for them, so they say they are independent instead of Democrat or Republican.

I have stopped using the term. I am unaffiliated. I am anti-partisan. I don't move left or right, because my views don't fit on a particular point on that thin red-purple-blue line.

    •  I would totally agree and I would love to stop (0+ / 0-)

worrying and writing about it. The only problem is that for eight years the Bush administration filled every corner of  the earth with crazed evangelicals. They feel free to challenge the President of the Untied States... there are God knows how many of these religious freaks are in the military. But their allegiance is to GOD and not the constitution. And I believe in God but religion has no business in politics. I work with about 20 pretty wealthy people. And every single one is an evangelical and every one has a job that is important. I have to hide the fact that I'm a Democrat, much less a liberal.

If you believe gallup at all their message is getting through. At least it is getting through to old white men and women (I'm one but I'm not stupid). You would not believe how many people my age refuse to even LISTEN to what I am trying to talk with them (nicely) about. Thank God for young people. I swear don't hire anyone  over sixty. With few exceptions their brains just stopped in the 50's. And PLEASE when you get to be 60, don't be an old fool.

Most of those Democrats come from states that aren't going to elect liberals or progressives better suited for San Francisco or New York City. Yes, IN voted for Obama; but, in all honesty, it is still very a much a conservative state. A more "progressive" Democrat just isn't going to win there. The 50 Blue Dogs come from districts that at best lukewarm to and, at worst, downright hostile to Democrats. You aren't going to get a far left Democrat in a 15%+ McCain district. And even if we primaried the Blue Dogs you'd get rabid right Republicans. If you thought that someone like Evan Bayh was bad, imagine having Dan Quayle there (who used to hold that seat). And without the Blue Dogs we don't have a majority.

it's one thing to have to be conservative about deficit spending and voting against healthcare reform at the most basic public option level. Over 70% of people nationwide want at least a public option. These guys are bought by the insurance companies and if you vote with the republicans on fiscal things and you vote with the insurance companies who paid to get you elected, well what do we really have? We need to turn these guys over more often. Evan Bayh has been in the Senate forever and he has done more harm than good to us. He will never be our 60th vote. And if some of them live in this house... they plan to take over the country. I'm not saying they can do it for certain. I am saying a fool for a Senator is a fool.

as well.  But I don't pull punches, and I don't apologize for what I say or feel (I'm a liberated bitch, sue me Palin!). But I have to say it, because I can't help wondering what would happen if:

we hooked these republican leaders (and any other regressive we could get our hands on) up to a lie-detector machine and asked them:

If your wife or your daughter were raped and impregnated (or impregnated by CONSENSUAL sex) by a BLACK or HISPANIC/FOREIGN man, would you want her to have an abortion?  Would you care for that dark mixed-race child as if he/she were your own?  Would you allow them to swim in your country club pool?

I know, it's remnants of Dukakis (it was Dukakis who got that cockamamie rape question, right?) but this might just be the conundrum (to abort or to bear a "blackie") that sends the "pro"-"life" bigots into spontaneous combustion... which would benefit human evolution exponentially.

    Just my uncouth ass wondering...

has been. It's about controlling women. There is a large faction that will always be looking for a way to control their wives and daughters. Want proof? All you have to do to cut abortion by about 3/4 is hand out birth control, teach family planning and help kids understand that if they are going to be active they better be prepared. So of course these horrific old racist republican men would run with their wife to the doctor if something like that happened. But that has never been the point for them.

Look at Sanford, after he found he could keep his job he just kept bragging about his girlfriend. His little boys will HEAR this shit. You know what? He wants them to be like him. Women are nothing to them, well except a thing to have sex with. And of course Jenny has to stand by her man to help keep him in office. They were calling for his resignation until she shut them up.

  •  I don't know what make someone a democrat anymore (0+ / 0-)

I used to think that democrats were less likely to abuse the electoral process then republicans. The DNC proved me wrong.

I thought the left leaning media would never aid in the taking down of one deomcratic candidate over another like the way Fox and company took out John McCain and carried Bush's water in 2000. Particularly when that candidate was a former great Democratic First Lady. MSMBC proved me wrong.

I never thought I'd see prominent democratic senators and super delegates endorsing and campaigning for "candidate B" candidate before their states primary while state polls showed that their constiuents favored "candidiate A" by more then 20 points. John Kerry and Ted Kennedy proved me wrong.
The last time I can remeber something like that was when a democratic Senator ran against Jimmy Carter in 1980 and f'd him over.

I thought that when a democrat took office that the abuses like torture and unwarranted spying on Americans would be addressed. That no one was above the law. I was wrong.

I thought thar after 8 years of defcits budgets the democrats would restore some fiscal sanity. Until Chris Dodd and allies got bagged over a gift they snuck into the bill giving million in bonuses to AIG
employees while the rest were sweating how we were going to feed the kids and buy enough gas to make it to work any given week.

If I'm not mistaken the leader of that religious group above holds regulary prayer meetings that even our President has attended. They seem tame compared to some of the masses and sermons heard in Chicago.

These bluedog democrats you are trying to take down might be pushing for sane policy that their constiuents want.  We have the blueprint for the loobyist written universal health plan in MA right now. Funny no one is crowing about it. We have only 2.6% uninsured but cost have gone up ~42% since 2006. We've seen 10 to 15% icreases in our bill each year and the cost of government funded portion of plan is going up by 12%. Emergency room visits are still some of the highest in the country. Who is this benefitting?

"So, you can be the creators of the new America. The one that cares about and protects all it's citizens and freedoms"

So what current offce holders are doing this?

    •  It's a meaningless term. nt (0+ / 0-)
    •  Well, I must say that if it were up to me (0+ / 0-)

they could double my taxes to help someone who needs it. Sometimes it's just to get over a bump in life. I really wish you the best. But please don't give up on real Democrats. They are the only ones who understand that if everyone is not at a certain level economically then everyone is at risk. The repugs just take the money and run.

And I understand how you feel about AIG but I work in that industry (well the investment end) and truly, if they failed we would have been at 30% unemployment overnight. I don't like these men but they had to save them. And if truth, Bush and a man named Phil Gramm (who wrote many laws deregulating everything eh could) did end up virtually robbing the banks. And, like us, if we are robbed the first thing we do is try to get back to normal.

You sound like a nice and thoughtful person and I hope you end up doing great.

      •  Best of luck to you staying employed. (0+ / 0-)

I agree with you regarding Gramm. I posted some fairly extensive comments regarding republican-deregulation and the Gramm-Bliely Act a while back.
Companies like AIG were born on the resulting feeding frenzy

Were the bonuses a necesary part of that bailout? I have no Idea how much you make (and don't begrudge for making it), however should the taxpayers be footing the bill for excess like those bonuses?  What was Chris Dodd up to?  Who is he working for these days?

Mortgage defaults just hit a new record and at best they are forecasting the peak won't be hit until mid-next year. The typical taxpayer is hurting. This stimulus package is doing zip for tha average stiff on the street. AIG issued bogus policies to bogus companies who were buying and selling bogus mortgages and product with no assets to back them up. My skepticism tells me that things are nack to business as usual.

The sale job on this universal healtcare is that along with providing insurance to the uninsured, it is supposed to reduce the costs to employers and emplyees so that weight of health care doesn't kill the the economy.

Romeny Care in MA, which sounds suspiciousely like what we will end up with on the national level did not reduce costs. Though it greatly cut the ranks of the unisured, employers and employess have seen 10 to 15% annual  premimum increases since it was instituted, Cost have increased soemthing like 42% on the publically funded end since 2006.

So what's the game? Save the economy, or give the insurance industry more customers/profits on the back of tax payers amd businesses?  While the cost increas by double digits each year anyway?

The country is bleeding around $3.9 billion a day.  We've paid over $141 billion in interest on the national debt alread this year. Personal debt in the country is over $ 7 trillion dollars.

They need to ger this right before the ram a trillion dollar + bill down our throats. They need to cuts cost and deliver the economic benfits they claim we will see.

Do Democrats believe that Wall Street should make billions while the rest of the nation falls apart.

    Apparently, some Democrats do.

Other Democrats believe that we should involved in a Global War on Terror. Others believe that the continuation of a War on Drugs is a good thing just the way it is and should be supported, and even expanded.

I vote for Democrats most of the time because there is no other reasonable alternative. I send those candidates [a small number, to be sure] money when exhibit responsible adult behavior, and express viewpoints and logic that I agree with.
