Donald Hertz has been indicted by a grand jury in Washington state for calling in a death threat on abortion doctor Warren Hern.
Here's Hern's statement:
Every doctor in this country who does abortions lives under death threat. They talk about the "abortion debate." That's nonsense, there's no debate. This is a Civil War. And the anti-abortion fanatics are using bullets and bombs.
We are helping women. That's not a debate. You can't debate with people that want to kill you, who say do what we tell you to do or we're going to kill you, and they do.
...
There was a time during the 80's when I was spending $1,000 a day for armed security guards. That's not the normal cost of medical practice. It bankrupts you.
I couldn't agree more. These are terrorists and their anti-abortion organizations are lending support and comfort to terrorists.
This kind of terrorism has to stop," Hern, 71, said Wednesday. "I'm very grateful for the hard work the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service did to find this man who made a threat to my family."
Hern said he had to pull his 92-year-old mother out of bed in response to the phone call and bring her to a safe place.
"This threatening phone call was very disturbing to my family," said Hern, who has been threatened numerous times before.
