UT2: Endangered Matheson looking good

Matheson (D) has the distinction of serving in the most Republican district held by a Democrat. Bush beat Gore in the district 67/31.

So it's no secret the NRCC is gunning for Matheson. But if the latest Deseret News poll is to be believed, Matheson is looking pretty safe.

That's not to say that this race is over. John Swallow has raised $470,651 as of mid-March -- enough money to cause trouble and spur additional cash from the NRCC. Matheson, however, has been no fundraising slouch, and boasted a healthy $631,230 in the same report.
