The Bush infomercial playing on HBO is a perfect metaphor for the Bush administration. While the documentary celebrates the spirit of America's Game and its effect on post 9-11 New York, it does so by dwelling on the amazing Yanks victory in Game 4 just past the stroke of midnight. While the image is uplifting, the reality is not; the Yanks lost the series as overpowering and seemingly perfect Mariano Rivera blew the Game 7 save. Just like the photo-op presidency, there are lots of images to make us New Yorkers feel good, but no real results. It's all about winning the battles for the cameras, but losing the war, but who cares, bury your head and wave the flag.
