FDR: on the 'Me Too' Republicans
http://www.youtube.com/...
Just as "There are No Atheists, in Foxholes", as the soldier's saying goes,
Franklin D. Roosevelt explains how:
"There are No Anti-Government Conservatives, when it comes to the People's Social Security."
Check out the speech where FDR calls out his opponents for the Hypocrites, they are, especially when it comes to their "pocketbook issues" ...
Franklin D. Roosevelt - The New Deal
The 'Me Too' Republicans
Let me warn the nation against the smooth evasion which says:
'Of course we believe all these things.
We believe in Social Security;
we believe in work for the unemployed;
we believe in saving homes.
Cross our hearts and hope to die,
we believe in all these things;
BUT we do not like the way
the present administration is doing them.
JUST turn them over to us.
We will do all of them;
we will do more of them;
we will do them better;
and best of all,
the doing of them
will not cost anybody anything.'
-- Franklin Roosevelt

JUST turn them over to us. -- The Obstructions, the Representatives for Lobbyists -- yeah, That's the Ticket!
Sure thing, no problem GOP, you guys were SOOOOOOOO Responsible with the Nation's Fortunes of the last 8 Years. Why shouldn't we Trust you?
Yeah Right! here's my PIN number: 123getreal!
The "Party of Greed", knows about one thing -- GREED!
If there is NOT a Payoff for you, somewhere, well you're just NOT interested in Changing Anything! Without some perk, the 'Status Quo' is just-fine-by-you!
And frankly TOO many Dems have joined that philosophical "Party of Greed", too.
Pols beware, the People have put you in Office, -- and the People can send you Packing too!
Sooner or Later, you "distinguished gentlemen and gentlewomen" in Congress, NEED TO GET AROUND TO ACTUALLY DOING The People's BUSINESS!!!
What Business is that?
Well, once again FDR spelled it out, in stark bold relief -- WHAT the Obstructionist, Party of Greed, has done everything in its power to prevent, from becoming law -- this the People's Business:
FDR's Economic Bill of Rights
http://www.youtube.com/...
This Republic had its beginning, and grew to its present strength, under the protection of certain inalienable political rights -- among them the right of free speech, free press, free worship, trial by jury, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures. They were our rights to life and liberty.
As our nation has grown in size and stature, however -- as our industrial economy expanded -- these political rights proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness.
We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. Necessitous men are not free men. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.
In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all -- regardless of station, race, or creed.
Among these are:
- The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

- The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

- The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

- The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

- The right of every family to a decent home;

- The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

- The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

- The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.
Americas own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for our citizens.
For unless there is security here at home, there can not be lasting peace in the world.

Well how Progressive is that?
No wonder Rush, and Hannity, and Beck, and all the other Multi-Million-Dollar-salaried "Fear Merchants", Hate FDR SOOOOO much!
It's kind of hard for them to pedal their brand of 2-bit Hysteria, if all American Citizens, have secured these 8 Economic Rights, that FDR was so passionate about.
THAT, "Our distinguished gentlemen and gentlewomen", is WHAT IT MEANS, to actually do the People's Business.
AND, IF you jokers, can't get the Job done, then People will just have to "find" some good-hearted folks, who will.
It IS the People's Government, afterall!
According to the Constitution -- YOU work for US! SO Get Cracking!
