Peaceable Kingdom (with Fabulous Photos)

This is a day to think about peace on earth and good will to all people. Peace can break out between the most unlikely companions:

but it can go much further than that!

Orphans have been fostered on some pretty suprising moms:

It's even common for Chinese zoos to give tiger orphans a dog as foster mother!

Sometimes orphans just make friends ---

This monkey had lost the will to live until the pigeon befriended it.

Monkeys seem ready to accept friendship from a variety of sources ---

Sometimes friendships form out of the blue ---

But one of my favorite stories is about these two ---

The donkey was put into the wolf's enclosure to be dinner, but the wolf decided to befriend it instead. They have been inseparable since.

If they can learn to live together, so can we!
