I am sorry if I am breaking a rule on topics. I will not do this again. I am trying to find cancer advocacy group for my sister's partner. Specific to cancers caused by welding fume. And I am having no luck on searches. They live in RI. He has been diagnosied with squamous cell carginoma. He was a welder for twenty years. This is his second battle. This one is very bad. 1 to 2 years. No health insurance.
Social services are providing hospice care. I am worried that he may be being written off as not worth the expense of agressive treatment or clinical trials. He suspects the cause may be a goverment contract job at a nuclear site15 years ago were he was exposed to fume not usually allowwed on commercial jobs. He was required to sign a waiver reliquishing right to sue for health claims.
If anyone has information or links I would appreciate it. And any online support groups for caregivers would be appreciated as well.
Again I'm sorry for the intrusion but he is a darn good Democrat.
Thank you.
