It's Sunday evening. I have a pot of homemade chicken soup going. Thunderstorms are moving in, and there's a wonderful coolness to the breeze that only happens in April, when the redbud and dogwoods first bloom. I have the most important of my work done for the week, although finishing my taxes is still nagging me. There's a pile of good books waiting for me and I even got the strawberries planted.
Life is good.
Still, something's missing. And it's been missing for a few days now.
There are no Goodbye Cruel World! diaries to entertain me before I settle in for the night.
I loved the Goodbye Cruel World! diaries. I laughed at the jokes, even tried a few of the recipes posted (although the best recipe posted so far [IMHO] was on a <snark the Dems> diary ---
it's so fabulous, I even proposed to its author).
I loved trying to discern the motivations underlying each and every GBCW! You know the drill: Is the author legitimately annoyed with Kos? Or are they simply having a foot-stomping tantrum because no one ever reads their diaries or someone called them a weiner head.
I loved their depth and breadth! And I loved reminiscing about my own GBCW! entries on a board long ago --- a board inhabited by the most noxious of rightwingers who I loved to troll with comments like RACIST PIG! and flounce out in a huff whenever I was called on my noxiousness.
Am I the only Kossite who misses them? Do I need therapy to overcome my sick fascination with the GBCW genre?
Or should I simply delete this diary and stick to gardening?
Ed. to add yet another poll option, in exchange for a fabulous baba ganoush recipe by Miss Devore.
