By now, everyone has heard about this exchange during Dick Cheney's 873rd interview since the election:
SCHIEFFER: Rush Limbaugh said the other day that the party probably would be better off of Colin Powell left and just became a Democrat and Colin Powell said Republicans would be better off they didn't have Rush Limbaugh speaking for them. Where do you come down?
CHENEY: Well if I had to chose, in terms of being a Republican, I'd go with Rush Limbaugh.
Good call, Dick. That exchange was so risible, it got the DNC on the case quickly -- and the following numbers turned up:
Cheney's approval numbers: 18%
Limbaugh's approval numbers: 26%
Powell's approval numbers: 80% (Rasmussen), or, 54% (CBS/NY Times).
Either way you slice it, Colin Powell is more popular than Cheney and Limbaugh combined.
