Indeed there seems to be No Shortage of Health Care Options, if you're lucky enough to have landed a Job with Uncle Sam:
Federal Employees Health Benefits Program
Choosing a state below will take you to a list of all plans available in that state ... [see map]
I wonder if these were the "Govt Programs" that Seantor Eric Cantor was thinking about, when he handed out his "free advice" the other day to that relative of the Tumor Victim, who had No Insurance, and had NO Hope?
Cantor To Uninsured Woman: Get on a Govt Program
http://www.youtube.com/...
I wonder if these were the "Govt Programs" Senator Coburn was criticizing, when he told the wife of the Trauma Victim, that "Govt is NOT the Solution" -- Sorry!? (No Soup for You!)
Sen Coburn Tells Women Crying Over Health Care "Govt Is Not The Answer"
http://www.youtube.com/...
Funny -- does that mean Senator Coburn will give up his Govt provided Health Insurance?
Hmmmm, kind of makes you wonder, Why this dispassionate Gopher took that Govt Job in the first place, if 'Gov't is NOT the Answer'?
Coburn to voters: "I'm going to Washington to make the world a better place! ... to make your lives better ... NO, I got it -- to line my own pockets! ... So Vote for Me!
Maybe it was just for "the perks", eh Senator? ... A person's got to work, right?
AND maybe Grassley was serious when he told someone from his district, if you want good Health Care -- just get a job with the Govt, like he has? (What Chuckie Worry!? -- not lately!)
Grassley: "go work for the federal government" for affordable insurance
http://www.youtube.com/...
Great Advice Mr. Grassley! ... Yes, ALL of America -- Should go work for the Govt, because that way we'll all get Good Insurance, finally. ... OMG! is he serious!?
Say Chuck, Do you know what they call it, in Countries where EVERYONE works for the Govt? -- They call it Socialism!
Where does the GOP find these guys? ... What are they doing in DC anyways -- trying to Dismantle the Government, or something? (Dah, could be -- some patriots!)
Or maybe being a Senator, is just another "gig" for them? --
Afterall you can't beat those Govt Benefits, and the Starting Salary, and the Lobbyist gifts -- a Cretan could get used to that!
Hmmm ... Maybe that IS why Chuckie went to DC:
Salaries and Benefits of US Congress Members
By Robert Longley, About.com
Members of Congress receive retirement and health benefits under the same plans available to other federal employees. They become vested after five years of full participation.
Rank-and-File Members: [of Congress]
The current salary (2009) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year.
Now if only we ALL could go work for the Senate, or the House, or even the Nat'l Park system feeding Yogi -- well you know, then that "Party of NO Solutions" might really be onto something!
Their "Starting Salaries", make you wonder, eh? Kind of dispels all those quaint notions of 'Mr. Smith going to Washington', to fight for the People, now doesn't it?
Fighting for all the Jacksons, Grants, and Franklins, stacking up in their coffers, maybe? Cough! there's a shortage of them, ya know!
Same Congress Benies link
- During the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin considered proposing that elected government officials not be paid for their service. Other Founding Fathers, however, decided otherwise.
- From 1789 to 1855, members of Congress received only a per diem (daily payment) of $6.00 while in session ...
Hmmm ... Maybe Ben Franklin had the right idea, about Public Servants working gratis? or for say $60 a day? But WHO would show up then? ... Well maybe, the REAL Patriots!
Imagine how different our Country would be now, if Public Service had been about PUBLIC SERVICE all this time! ... (and NOT one's own Career Advancement.) Land of the Free, comes to mind.
Well it's not too late. You too, could go work for the Govt! Be a part of the Solution Problem and Not part of ... just another whiner!
Afterall the Govt may end up being the only "Growth Sector" left in the Economy, once the Wall Street Wizards and the Multi-National Corporations have their way, and complete their "Bargain Basement" deconstruction of America.
Perhaps Grassley DID know what he was talking about, afterall? ... Get a Gov't Job, while you still can ... the 'Last Frontier' in Employment. Step right up!
But think carefully, before signing up. Working through those "No-Facts, No-science, No-Clue GOP Regimes", can be a real killer, in many more ways than one! Be Wary! when "competence" has left the Building.
On the other hand, the Benefits of a Government Job, are nothing to sneeze at -- they got you covered, if you come down with the sniffles --- especially if you're one of the "in crowd". Uncle Sam, wants you too!
And having a Choice, is MUCH Better, ... than ... having ... None!
Just Ask Chuck!
