Bill Maher is a funny guy, but sometimes he can drive me nuts. I literally turned the show off & deleted the recording when he kept interrupting Cory Booker a few weeks ago. Maher sounded like a pompous doofus on "This Week" a month ago. He can be the broken clock of liberal leftist libertarian librarian whatever TV hosts - right twice per day.
But the conclusion to Friday's "New Rules" on that little HBO show know as "Real Time with Bill Maher" was one of their better segments in a while.
New Rule: Al Gore must come out with a sequel to his movie about climate change and call it -
"An Inconvenient Truth II : What the fuck is wrong with you people?"
The whole show was above average, with Andrew Sullivan stealing most of the limelight. But I want to hone in on the climax of the night. For embedded video (about 5 mins long) and some transcription, come on down below.
Skip the first 2:20. It is not funny at all and he spends a lot of time talking about some Hollywood nobody that I have never heard of. He also makes a ridiculous and cruel "joke" about the developing Muslim world looking...well, developing. STFU, asshat.
The good part comes from 2:22 on.

Vimeo reports:
"Video Deleted"
I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that moneyed groups peppered Vimeo with complaints which forced the video to be pulled.
Just a guess.
Let's see how long before this one gets pulled (you guys go easy on the views, OK?)

He points out the the U.S. is not the only country that is seeing an uptick in poll numbers of the mouth-breathing morons and otherwise ignorant or intransigent assholes who do not acknowledge global warming is real & man-made.
People are always accusing me of hating America and calling it stupid, but tonight I'd like to take a few minutes to hate England and call it stupid.
He clearly smacks down their absurd position with concise comedic candor.
One major reason pollsters say is "We had a very cold, snowy winter." Which is like saying the sun might not be real because last night it got dark.
And he rightly points fingers at the media themselves for their utter and inexplicable tendency to split the air time with Nobel Prize winners and UG, the caveman from the Geico commercials.
Interesting research, doctor. How do you respond, Ug?
UG NO LIKE! UG SMASH NOW!!!
On this side of the debate: Every scientist in the world.
On the other side: Mr. Potato Head.
There is no debate here. It is just scientists vs. non-scientists. And since the topic is science, the non-scientists don't get a vote.
rAmen, brother! Your preaching is tolerable when you are on the side of science! Maybe you shouldn't stray from that side, m'kay? Just sayin...
As Darksyde pointed out today, these people are bolstered by the deepest pockets in the world, and are not to be trusted:
The book reveals how those pioneering shills evolved into a small group of well funded pseudo-scientists who now hold influence over perception and policy far out of proportion to their numbers or the credibility of their claims.
For Americans who love "Freedom", there needs to be an awakening amongst the growing numbers of brainwashed lemmings who don't understand they are depriving their grandchildren children of freedom. As Maher put it:
The last decade year and month are all the hottest on record. And then there's the floods, the killing of the oceans, category 5 hurricanes, giant wildfires, the vanishing water supply. You know, the little things.
The time to end the debate is now. There was a debate once. Not any longer.

Per a few comments: Tweaked the adjective in the intro. I don't give a dang what he claims he is; on 90% of stuff he is liberal. But whatever.
Sorry if you were watching the vid when the diary reloaded.
Also added the eKos widget for folks to catch the other good eco/climate diaries today. Should have had this in there from the start; oops!
