Hello, it's the surrogate chicating. Yesterday's blog was just a little too late and got timestamped for today. So to get back on schedule I am sacrificing my precious diary allotment and posting her diary for her. (Big talk for someone who hasn't diaried in many months! ;-) )
So on to the real thing . . .

I get yelled at by somebody who usually yells at Keith..."
That, and more awesomeness, below the fold.
First, I really enjoyed the first segment. It has not been often, in my lifetime, that I've seen two leftists, for lack of a better term, debate the response of a Democratic president without sex or violence being the issue and without some "Jane, you ignorant slut!" sort of "balanced" right-wing rebuttal. Finally, someone realizes they've had too much to say already. Although it can be easier when there is only one right(or left) opinion to take from a TV segment, it is nice to see a commentary show that reflects life as being more complicated than that. I found myself agreeing with both Rachel and Alter at different points.
I loved that Rachel compared the right-wing smear machine to these guys. Although everyone in there looks "reasonably suspicious"...maybe Sheriff Joe will raid it soon.
Next, yay, Rachel for mocking Billo's ratings "size issues" She's so funny, and she's right. He totally misses the point by bragging about all the dead eyes he's got turning to him at the old-age home and the Nervous Hospital.
Would you take political advice from this guy?(Note: He's still smarter than James Inhofe.)
On a more serious note, Lieutenant Dan Choi discusses his recent discharge...if the Pentagon were really interested in observing unit cohesion with gay soldiers, could they have left Choi in his position and written reports about it? Maybe that is an ignorant question.

Belle Ame here again. Just a note on the last segment re the Midterms. Rachel points out how common wisdom is that all the GOP had to do is sit back and let control of at least one Chamber come to them, because that's what happens in to the minority party in midterms. Fortunately, they continue to prove that wisdom is lacking in that party as they are on a track to screwing up gains in two promising states: Colorado and Nevada.
I live in Colorado and I don't even dare to predict what will happen here. Part of me wants Tancredo to get into the Gubernatorial race because that will fire me up as I hate that . . . (he used to be my congressman). As crazy as the state Republicans are though, our Dems have a bad habit of forgetting what side they are really on, thus losing the votes of their supporters but not gaining the votes of the far right. So the GOP could still triumph despite their worst efforts.
