I'm the co-chair of the Elections Committee for my local Democratic Town Committee - we held standouts all over town today. It's a beautiful day today, sunny and almost 50 degrees - seven of us gathered on the sidewalk outside our Post Office, a very busy spot on Saturday mornings. Our state rep had signs, and he coordinated five other standouts all over town. As far as I know, there were no standouts for Brown, several folks who were out running errands stopped by to tell us that they hadn't seen anything for him.
But that doesn't mean that he lacks supporters in the area - the positive responses were definitely higher than the negatives, by about a 2 to 1 margin, but a lot of folks shouted at us, or gave us a thumbs down, or flipped us the bird. But a lot more folks gave us thumbs up, or beeped and waved, so I felt pretty good about it overall.

Tomorrow we'll be standing out on the Fruit St Bridge in Hopkinton - this bridge goes over Rt 495, just 1/4 mile south of the spot where the Mass Pike exits onto 495. We have several 4 foot by 8 foot Coakley signs, and we'll be there from noon until 2. Come on down and join us! Fruit St is easy to find, it connects Rt 135 to Southville Rd - here's a map:
If you're in central Massachusetts, perhaps we'll see you there?
Obligatory Rec List Update - Thanks for the recs - now go help Coakley seal the deal!
And another update - we made the local newspaper's web site just now!
