Nobody saw Obama completely capitulating to the corporate order, unless, of course, you were paying attention.
We might've had a clue when Biden, Summers, Rahm Immanuel and Tim Geithner were selected for his cabinet. But no, we were to busy being please that America was capable of voting for a black man. Good going liberals. All the homeless, war dead and tortured souls thank you.
We might have had a clue about Obama when it was revealed that one of his aides told Canadian officials not to worry about the rhetoric on NAFTA, but no, we were too busy being mesmerized by Obama's "great" oratory skills (which I still fail to see).
We liberals could have seen Obama's true colors when he refused to engage in the healthcare "debate". For 8 months he avoided getting involved, never even uttering the words "public option." In fact, Obama met healthcare industry officials behind closed doors to craft his plan. Remember when Cheney met with oil industry officials? Remember the justified outcry it caused among libs? Where was the liberal outcry against Obama's industry meeting? When all was said and done liberals tried to spin as "a step in the right direction". And it is a pathetic embarrassment for any liberals to say! When Obama weak healthcare plan passed the stock market went up, meaning the corporations approved.
Not only did Obama not close the Guantanamo prison, not only did he not end torture, but his "justice Department" is now torturing my fellow American, Bradley Manning, a young man with more guts and integrity than most liberals and conservatives combined. And now for his courage and integrity, this 22 year-old's life is being destroyed. They've keep him in solitary confinement for 7 months and counting. He has not blankets or pillows, he is not even allowed to exercise in his cell, where he is kept 23 out 24 hours. Now they've started giving him anti-depressants in an attempt to keep him mentally together. How does that work?
Where is the outcry?
I am so glad I did not vote for Obama. I voted for Nader, whom most people on this website trashed and many liberals called an a**hole. Who's the a**hole now?
Let's dump these republicans and democrats. They are the same thing with different methods. Republicans are straight up jerks and democrats pretend they are helpless with a gaint majority, or that they seek cooperation and compromise.
Lastly, everyone recognizes the damage done to our country in the reign of W. When Obama came in he protects those who have taken America one step closer to tyranny, but also said in a speech that Bush did his best to protect us.
