Despite all-out propaganda blitz, 24/7, on all channels, for over 40 years, geared up to hysterical proportions for the '08 elections, the "American" peoples rejected monopoly corporate fascist commercial mass media "analysis", and stepped up to elect Obama, Democratic Majorities in both houses of Congress, and a substantially enlarged Progressive Caucus...endorsing an explicit rhetoric of justice and peace, to save the planet.
Up in the face of the most insidious and ruthless death culture counter-revolutionary pig paradigm in human history...
You can trot out your laundry list of outrages, complaints, disappointments, shortcomings, failings and foibles of the present Democratic Party, such as it is, and you won't necessarily be entirely "wrong", per se, on any given issue. It's definitely NOT socialist utopia, yet.
The simple fact is that the right, the Blue Dogs and Republicans, yet and still retain sufficient plurality, just barely, to block, delay and sabotage forward motion. The simple fact is, just a few more Progressives, and a few less Blue Dogs and Republicans, will very substantially, decisively, tip the balance of power in 2010 and 2012.
Then, and only then, we can call Obama's bluff, if that's what it is, about "make me"...or else give him the juice that he needs to do more, better, faster...
Or... be in a material position to replace him with more viable leadership.
The simple fact is, 2010 and 2012 will be pivotal moments, on which the history and destiny of this nation, and the whole world, may ultimately hinge. The ice caps are melting. Time's up. We must go for what we know, and seize the power, to save the planet.
THEN will it be socialist utopia? I think not, but we'll be in a better position to discuss such concepts.
To ignore, dismiss, or deny this real-politik in any given critique or analysis of the present political clusterfuck is the height of disingenuous weaseling.
One thing, and one thing only, will make a material difference, and that is a substantially larger Progressive Caucus, with substantially fewer Republicans and Blue Dogs in Washington, and all down the ladders of power to the state and local levels.
Public opinion has shifted in this country, and it's not moving to the right, with the jive astro-turf "teabaggers", Palin, et al. They are a mere media construct, contrived to convey counter-revolutionary propaganda, "representing" only the bilous angst of a dwindling isolated minority, a hostile, traitorous, anti-democratic counter-revolutionary throwback reactionary conservative fundamentalist pig death culture.
And yet, nevertheless, despite everything commercial fascist pig mass media has thrown at us these many years, in fact, an overwhelming majority of the peoples of this great nation now stand staunchly opposed to racism, sexism, eco-rape, murderous monopoly corporate ripoff, and warmongering imperialism.
Unprecedented numbers of youth, and virtually all people of color have stepped up and clearly expressed an explicit popular democratic mandate for justice and peace, to save the planet.
But it's not over, yet...The struggle continues. The right will never surrender voluntarily to the popular democratic will.
The right must be purged from all levers of power, and suppressed, democratically, electorally.
Interesting to note, that among any three people, even of similar political tendency, there is likely to emerge a more or less, relatively speaking, right, left, and center perspective, toward any given issue.
On the left, we have our own conservative, even reactionary elements, seeking to look back, emulating an idealized past, in terms of analysis, practice, and rhetorical theory.
While such "left" elements may not necessarily be fascist, per se, they can tend to resemble their doppelganger, in rationalizing a compromise of human principles, to "justify" expedient means.
Foremost among such rationalized practical "necessities", in the face of a (falsely) perceived "real-politik" of unprepared, unworthy, or even inherently degenerate masses, these right, and left, elements tend to resort to the most heinous, egregious, throwback counter-revolutionary error of elitism...that bane of humanity, from which all socio-economic evils flow, elitism.
That fatal counter-revolutionary error of elitism, so often conflated with a profound, contemptuous fear, and thus even hatred of the masses, has served to isolate, marginalize, and discredit such elements of the left.
Just because the lying, slanderous, ad hominem right always says that "the left is elitist", doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't somewhat true, at least to some degree, among some elements, heh.
Naturally, fascism, in it's psychopathic minsanthropic Machiavellian obsession with a primary goal of discrediting and destroying the left, seeks to encourage and provoke marginalization of the left, not only by attacking the left in every venue, but also, even, by infiltrating and manipulating the left, to whatever degree that they can, to surrepticiously inculcate, cultivate and agitate incorrect counter-revolutionary tendencies on the left.
Traditionally, historically, the most rabidly "radical" left elements have always tended to be police provocateurs, government agents, and other monopoly corporate, fascist elements, and their cultish dupes, promulgating electoral boycott, vote splitting, and other more draconian "alternative direct action", to set up the left for a whole lot of bullshit right wing propaganda jive to "justify" social, economic and military repression...all specifically aimed at suppressing likely Democratic voter turnout.
Anything but democracy, heh...feared and hated by reactionary conservative fundamentalists of any stripe, from the right or the left...democracy is the nemesis of elitism.
Indeed, democracy, as the most fundamental revolutionary principle, too often gets lost in the sauce of "revolutionary" polemic, debate, and ad hominem internecine attack, as well as in grassroots work with the masses, including demonstrations, protests, and other "actions" purportedly seeking to address the gory details and symptoms of capitalism...all too often without even mentioning the real, root issue, the profound lack of democracy in this country, and the need to materially seize popular democratic power, electorally, via the Democratic Party.
The masses have rejected "left" calls for electoral boycott and splitting, and "voted with their feet" by marching to the polls en masse to vote for Obama, the Democratic Majorities, and a bigger Progressive Caucus...but also for the concept of electoral democracy.
Some elements of the left still need to accept and follow the leadership of the masses, in this regard.
The left needs to re-examine failed, out-moded, old-school catechisms of theory, analysis, line and practice, and adapt to profound changes in conditions. This is not Russia or China, 50 years ago, proto-iindustrial Europe, nor pre-industrial feudalism. This is the USA, going into the 21st Century.
Civil war is always brought, historically, inevitably, by the right, in direct proportional reaction to popular democratic motion to the left...and all indications are that such a final struggle is about to ensue.
The following two images were posted, in this juxtaposition, in a fairly typical right wing extremist "comment" in local online newspaper discussion threads:
The right is no longer politically correct in this country, which is totally freaking them out...Right wing reactionary conservative fundamentalists, in REACTION to the real-politik, are screaming hysterically for political assassination, mass murder and civil war.
Now is not the time to abandon the struggle, nor to revert to the methods of the past. It's time to accept the leadership of the masses, and to resolutely step up and call for democracy...At this time, this is the most viable way to press the contradictions and precipitate a final showdown on our own terms, in our own favor.
It's now time to engage the enemy in that one arena that they hate and fear most and devote the most resources to, the electoral arena. Now is the time to off the pigs, democratically, electorally.
Only by this means can we effectively press the contradictions of capitalism, and establish the necessary overwhelming popular democratic mandate for legitimate, reasonable, just, resolute suppression of anti-democratic counter-revolutionary sedition, treason, and crimes against humanity.
The more substantial the popular democratic mandate, the more surely, thoroughly and quickly the counter-revolution will be suppressed, by whatever means prove appropriate and necessary, according to the popular democratic will.
It may not be enough to just vote. It may well take both. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Conditions change, and so must the praxis.
This is the USA. If anyone can do this, we can.
We will not be denied.
Seize the time!
Seize the power!
Bring the better Democrats!
All Out for 2010 and 2012!
Death to capitalism as we now know it, and it's moribund form, fascism!
All Power to the People!
