Well, events have overtaken us. (Jeebus, I hope you aren't still feeding ice chips to Elisa, Kos. That would be one hell of a long labor.)
A wise minister once told me, you don't have a community until you've had some births and some deaths. These events are so life-changing that they are part of the mystery of what it means to be human, and they create and discover the powerful glue of what it means to be a community.
As we prepare to welcome Baby Kos, we also put Meteor Blades on a plane to Oregon. His father-in-law just died. The cycle of birth and death is now being repeated in our community.
Kos will be back here as soon as he can, but he hasn't done the Dad thing before and he's probably going to be busier and tireder than he planned on. DHinMI and I will keep the franchise going in the interim. That's one of the things Kos hired us for. MB will be back on Wednesday, he thinks. He put a loving memorial to his father-in-law in his Diary.
