The overall level of crankiness around here seems to be decreasing somewhat, but I did find myself having a small relapse over these past few days of trying to navigate the group dynamics. I get it that once you follow a group, it lands in your stream. (Note: if you JOIN a group, in order to see it in your stream, you must also follow it) I think my main problem is that there's just so many groups, and some are so much the same I end up spinning in place not knowing where to look next! Too many choices makes me crazy. Like the time I had a meltdown in the supermarket.
All I needed was to find a certain kind of toothpaste and a certain brand of low carb bread my partner wanted. How hard can that be? Oh my gawd. One entire aisle, five shelves high, of just toothpaste! In what kind of insane world does there need to be THAT many kinds of toothpaste?! I felt the headache start behind my eyeballs, but I soldiered on because I didn't dare go home without it.
But I'm old, with a bad back, a bad hip, and a tin knee that sounds like a bucket of bolts, all of which began to set up a howl before I got to the end of the first shelf. It took me nearly 20 minutes to find that damned toothpaste, and I still had the bread to go, which was hiding on the bottom of another long aisle full of more kind of breads than you could count. Insanity. Sheer insanity.
DK4 feels a bit like a big box supermarket to me right now: so many kinds of everything scattered over such a huge area. I see glimpses of people I know as I go up and down the aisles, but no one seems to gather in the same place for long either. I miss that.
Ok, the floor is open to any and all forms of crankiness or whatever else toots your horn!
