Kyl revises Congressional Record to omit 'well over 90% of what Planned Parenthood does' is abortion

Last Friday, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) stood on floor of the United States Senate and lied through his teeth, saying:

If you want an abortion you go to Planned Parenthood and that's well over 90% of what Planned Parenthood does.

But today, if you go to the pages of the Congressional Record, it's as if it never happened:

If you want an abortion you go to Planned Parenthood and that is what Planned Parenthood does.

That's right. Taking advantage of the senate prerogative to "revise and extend their remarks," Kyl scrubbed the blatant lie he told about Planned Parenthood, leaving that much more benign quote to be enshrined forevermore in the Congressional Record.

Sadly for Mr. Kyl, that senate privilege doesn't extend to YouTube:

Kyl's attempt to rewrite history comes on the heels of a week of non-stop mockery after his office said that Kyl's claim that abortion made up over 90% of Planned Parenthood's business rather than the actual 3%, was misunderstood, and:

... his remark was not intended to be a factual statement ...

And so a game of half-assed damage control begins. Scrub the Congressional Record, make a claim that he "misspoke," and blame his press person for the rest, and pretend he didn't knowingly lie on the floor of the United States Senate to promote his extremist ideology.
