Amid growing signs that she's planning to enter the presidential race, Sarah Palin is set to embark on a weeks-long bus tour that will take her deep into enemy territory.
The starting point for her trip is the annual Memorial Day weekend "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle ride; and although there are questions as to who exactly invited Palin to the event, there can be no doubt that she loves the imagery associated with it.
Her itinerary is filled with numerous stops at Civil War battlefields, which are the perfect places to unite all Americans behind her half-term governing philosophy.
Meanwhile, back in D.C., Congressional Republicans (with financial assistance from Newt Gingrich's donors) continued to throw senior citizens under the bus as they head down the path to prosperity permanent minority, much to the delight of Dick Cheney.

Elsewhere:
During a speech in which he urged all Americans to read the Constitution, Republican presidential contender Herman Cain made a Bachmann-esque mistake and confused it with the Declaration of Independence.
CAIN: We don’t need to rewrite the Constitution of the United States of America, we need to reread the Constitution and enforce the Constitution. … And I know that there are some people that are not going to do that, so for the benefit of those who are not going to read it because they don’t want us to go by the Constitution, there’s a little section in there that talks about "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
You know, those ideals that we live by, we believe in, your parents believed in, they instilled in you. When you get to the part about "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," don’t stop there, keep reading. Cause that’s when it says "when any form of government becomes destructive of those ideals, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it." We’ve got some altering and some abolishing to do!
Meanwhile:
World Net Daily editor Joseph Farah accused Donald Trump – who claims to be considering reentering the presidential race – of being a White House plant after learning that he hadn't read the advanced copy of "Where's the Birth Certificate?" he'd been given.
Farah wonders aloud why Trump would ask for a copy of a book he had no intention of reading—even going to the extent of having his organization sign a non-disclosure agreement to get an early electronic copy. "If he wasn't going to read the book, why go to the trouble of requesting a PDF copy and having your representative sign an NDA [non-disclosure agreement] for it?" asked Farah. "Was his intent all along to violate the NDA and give it to someone else? Was his intent other than what he represented to us—to go to school on the eligibility issue? Trump needs to explain himself to someone other than Mother Jones. That doesn't sound like good faith to me."
"I have strongly begun to suspect that Trump had other motives than seeking the truth about Obama. I think he was pumping Corsi for information for some other purpose than being on the right side of history."
And in other news:
We learned this week that former RNC Chairman Michael Steele will be heading to the urban-suburban hip-hop settings of MSNBC studios.
Former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Michael Steele has been named MSNBC political analyst. The announcement was made today by Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC, and is effective immediately.
Steele, who has been a frequent guest on MSNBC, will now regularly appear on the full lineup of MSNBC programming as part of the network’s diverse group of analysts and contributors.
"I’m thrilled to have Michael join MSNBC," said Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC. "His strong voice and opinions will be a great addition to all of our programs."
"It’s an honor to contribute and engage in the dialogue on MSNBC," said Steele. "I look forward to engaging a diverse audience to share insights and analysis about the people, issues, and events shaping America’s future. I’m sure our discussions will be both informative and a bit spirited!"
Let's get this show on the road.
