From MSNBC:
Top Democratic leaders urged U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign on Saturday, calling the disgraced Democrat's actions "indefensible" after admitting sending graphic photos to women online.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the chair of the Democratic National Committee, and Steve Israel, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, released statements within minutes of each other Saturday.
As of this writing, Weiner still insists that he will not step down.
Update: According to Ben Smith at Politico (via twitter), Weiner's office has issued a statement:
“Cong. Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person ... In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated ... and map out a course of treatment to make himself well ... Congressman Weiner takes the views of his colleagues very seriously & has determined that he needs this time to get healthy and make the best decision possible for himself, his family and his constituents.”
